Rules
I have a few rules to ensure that all players enjoy themselves and feel safe at the table:
- Respect your fellow players. No abuse of other players or the DM, in ANY form, will be tolerated.
- I use a stoplight system in the games I run. If for any reason you feel uncomfortable with the scene or need to stop say:
- Yellow, meaning “I’m getting uncomfortable. Can we move on?”
- Red: “I need to stop the game now.”
- You can use these failsafes at any time. No judgment. No questions asked.
- Have fun. Break the laws of physics. Burn the bar. Rescue the damsel. Romance the dragon if you want. Just enjoy yourselves!
Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to play?
Just your imagination, an adventurous spirit, and a Roll20 account. All of them are free!
I’ve heard you need special Dice. Is that true?
Yes and no. Yes, tabletop games are usually played with polyhedral dice. No you don’t need to buy a set for your first game. Roll 20 has a wonderful dice tool for people who don’t have a set yet.
If you really want to get a set. (I’ve always prefer to physically roll dice myself. There is just something so satisfying about it.) They can usually be found at your local hobby or game shop for about $10 a set.
How old should you be to play?
Any tabletop game usually involves a fair bit of math. Players should be able to add single digit numbers to a double digit.
Usually the youngest players I’ll take on are about nine years of age. As for the oldest… I had a seventy-two year old grandmother play a dwarf fighter named Bruenhilde Firestomper.
You don’t have an adventure I want to play. Can you make one?
Yes but I will have to charge a flat fee for the world building. The size of that fee depending on how much customization I have to do.
